Default I need help installing aftermarket radio.

Ok so i finally bought a new car stereo and im in the process of installing it. I bought a Kenwood Dnx6160 pictured below.

Ok I already trimmed the rails on the inside of the radio cavity and the radio has a very snug fit but there are no screw holding it in place. All I have found about installing this type of unit is about trimming the rails. To anyone who has performed this type of project, how did you secure the unit inside the car?

Also, where is the parking brake switch cable and the reverse light cable? Does anyone know where i can find a detailed wiring diagram?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I just used some stiff cardboard shims to hold it in tight. It hasn't budged in almost a year now. I can't help you on the others. I just grounded my parking brake wire. I don't have a back up camera so no need for the reverse wire.Name: IMG00066-20100629-13301.jpg

Thanks a lot, Im gonna try grounding the wire to see if it works. Ill see what i can do about reverse light cable, in any case I dont have a rearview camera anyway so I guess Ill just leave it out. If someone can tell me where it is Ill connect it if not then Ill just leave it out. Thanks again.

try a web search on if you can just ground the park cable. Some of the units are pretty sophisticated and will still go into safe mode if the vehicle is moving. As for the reverse wire you could always run it down the side of the interior tucked under the trim and pick up the wire in the tail light housing in the trunk.

Man, those things look sexy. How do they sound? Do you replace the speakers as well? Are they pretty much plug and play? Do both of them have DVD players?

Mine is not a DVD player, just AM/FM/CD/Ipod and NAV. That wasn't in my budget. I kept everything else stock sounds the same to me which is fine. Mine is a Pioneer.

Ok first of all thanks to everyone who helped out, the unit is almost completely installed. The only thing left is getting the gps antenna on top of the dash board without any wires showing. Grounding the wire actually worked cause it also works as a dvd bypass. The rest of the stereo is stock so it pretty much sounds the same.

Just dropping by to show pictures of the installed unit.
This is the bluetooth microphone, I decided to put it on one of the switch blanks in the front panel.
