Default Keyless Remote Programming

Hello all Volovo fans!
I just bought Volvo S70 1998, and previous owner hadlost keyles remote for this car. I can buy remote from many places on internet, but can any one help me with the procedure of programing it.
Aparently it's really simple procedure, just the matter of pressing buttons in proper sequence. I called my local dealer and they said they don't do this type of work, I was very surprise to hear that.

Does any one have the programminginstructions for this model ?
I really appreciate all inputs, comments, suggestions, advice of how to do it yourself.
Thanks in advance.

The 1998 S70 has to be done with the Volvo Hand Held scanner.
The 1998 S90/V90 can be done without it.
All 1997 cars can be done without the Volvo hand held.
Everything 1999 and newer can only be done by the Dealer.

Thank you guys for the info. I read other forums related to the same remote programing issue and people are saying that buying the remote + programing at the dealer may cost over $150, so maybe it would be wiser to add another $50 or $80 and buy from BestBuy the whole package Keyless entry+Remote starter+Alarm, and they do the installation as well.
Thanks again.
