Kits???
hey im lookin to make my volvo a pretty car... however, it seems there is only one kit in the entire world and its not that hot. they also seem to only provide front bumper and im lookin for side skirts and rear as well. I want the looks of my car to show the power. i think people that dont have volvos look at them as crap but volvos need to get outside that image, so any help on nice lookin kits would be nice. and remember, im 16, i dont exactly have a bunch of $$, so no 918273 dollar carbon fiber stuff [8D]

RE: Kits???
Performance and Appearance are two completely different worlds. "Looking Fast" is how you get noticed by police, and that's attention you don't want. There's a lot to be said about the "sleeper" look, which all Volvo's come with stock. for the record your S70 has 220ish lbs/ft of torque and 190hp.

RE: Kits???
I honestly have no problem with you correcting someone if you have an S70 with different specs than most. I don't usually refer to people I don't know as "buddy" or tell them, "boy what i tell u bout assumin?" I try to correct people tactfully. I thought some of my junior Marines had attitude problems, I can see that I am in for a rude awakening when your age group starts serving. You could have pointed out the differences in your car and moved on. alecw81 had a point, this is not the car to add body mods to. Especially if you are 16 and "dont exactly have a bunch of $$, so no 918273 dollar carbon fiber stuff."
Enjoy the car and try not to get yourself or an innocent bystander killed racing against those Civics.

RE: Kits???
ok sorry to all you 40 year olds that feel the need to rag on someone in an online post. reg, nobody cares about grammar, i don't know any of you, so exactly why should i be ashamed anyways? Of course i have a different attitude, i'm 16 years old and cocky as hell. Let's focus on the purpose of these forums and talk about volvos buddy.

RE: Kits???
Those know-it-all 40 year old bug me too. I'm turning 56 next week and I like some of what this kid is trying to do to his car. But I really don't think there is much available for the Volvo body. I have tried to find just the clear tail lights for mine and have had no luck. Now on making them look fast, I have a story. Two Civic's were out on the highway the other day making all kinds of noise with those great big pipes coming out the back. I had my 850 in E mode and went buy them like they were standing still. The noise was bothering me so I just got away from it. I also like the way the car looks when I blow the doors off older Vettes too. My son took it out and beat the crap out of a 5.0 Mustang when he was younger. Now he has a BMW 325IS and thinks it will run neck and neck with my Volvo. We have never lined them up.
S70turbo1999 you be careful with that car. It's fast and it's safe but you just use your head about when to drive fast and when to drive responsibly. You get that car all cleaned up with a spoiler on the back, tinted windows and a nice set of wheels and it's a damn good looking vehicle. Good luck and have fun.

RE: Kits???
Yeah I'm cool. All my kid's friends thought I was a cool Dad, but I'm also a good father and my kids really good kids. I teach them to respect people which is very important. You're young, you have a lot to learn, but fixing up your car is a good way to spend time. My son and I did a complete brake job on his BMW last weekend. Well I should say he did a brake job and I supervised. My youngest daugheter (she's 22) and I put a new exhaust on her Acura a few weeks ago. In that case I did most of the work. I like young people, but I have to tell you one thing I do like good grammar, but I undersand where you are coming from.
By the way I was in the Navy for five years so I had to stick up for you when a Marine started getting on your case. I respect what you're saying too Tech, and I really appreciate the way you help people, but I almost said something to the Marine for getting on this Kid the way he did. That was not necessary.

I agree to some point.Thats why I waited a little before saying something. There was wrong words said on both sides. But no grudges here.Im just trying to run an enjoyable forum here.I have been involved in a couple that went haywire.I don't want that to happen here.
I know where he is coming from as well because I was the same way when I was his age. Then I had a child and my life changed forever.
