O.K. dumb question but can anyone tell me what the W right below the shifter is for/means?

Click NEW VOLVO OWNER info link in the sticky and check out the owners manual.

W = Winter
E = Economy
S = Sport

Yeah, Volvo says the "W" is for "Winter", but I think it stands for "WTHIBN".

Several times a year I accidentally push it and upon leaving a Stop sign (in third gear) I moan "What The Hell Is Broken Now"

So it lowers the tourqe from take off for "winter" or "rainy" situations. Ok, I see. Thanks!
