as i mentioned earlier .. i just got a n s70 with about 145k miles on it...

- the gas pedal is stiff .. usually when i first start.. and at random spots while im driving... what could it be.. ih avent serviced it yet.. this is my 2nd day driving it...

- the TRACS OFF light is on... to be honest with you .. i dont even know what TRACS is .. can someone explain it to me...

im about to have AAMCO do a check on everything.. but i still would like to knwo what you guys think..

 

What year is it?
If it is a 1998 have the throttle body cleaned.

Tracs is traction control if the wheels start spinning the computer pulses the brakes to stop the wheels from spinning.
Most likely the ABS module is bad.

 

it is indeed a '98 ... so is this thing common among 98 s70's.... .how much is it to get the throttle body cleaned?? ...

and if you dont mind can you explain how the throttle body afffects the gas pedal to make it stiff??

 

It should cost less than $100.00 to get it cleaned.

The throttle body gets alot of carbon build up on it.
If you release the throttle pretty quick the throttle plate gets stuck in the carbon. Making the pedal hard to make it move again.

It might also be a cable.

But the dirty throttle body is usually the cause more than the cable.

 

I see... but why did you ask about the year 98 ... is it more common with the 98 model?

The 1999 is fully electronic. Does not have a throttle cable.
