Default My “stock” s70 GLT isn’t as stock as I thought.

Yes that tital is a little strange, when I bought the car in November 2021 I thought it was stock from bumper to bumper, last week I installed a boost gauge and in the process found some weird stuff,
I found a command start box even though I was only ever given the singular master key, I found a strange alarm system that does not seem to lead anywhere, and I found a 50 watt tweeter and mid range amp, all of these are under the steering wheel and it all looks like a tangled mess of wires and fuses, I’ll get a picture in the comments, I found out the dash speakers are upgraded and the only things that are plugged into this amp, as well as there is a wiring harness off the radio (sc-816) to accompany the amp, what I’m asking is, is there any way for me to get the other speakers connected to this small amp, and is there any way of me connecting a larger amp and sub from the wires the harness added, trying to find any info on the amp is strange the only lead I have is the brand is “MB quart” it’s 50 watts and the casing is clear plastic so you can see all the insides of the amp, let me know what you think!

Stereo equipment is fun to work with (you don't get dirty for one thing) and really, it's all standardized enough to be simple. You do need to know something about that amp. You don't really hook speakers in parallel, for one thing. You'd need as many output channels as you have speakers. That's generally true at least in my simplistic world.

its ok to hook speakers in parallel provided you understand what the implications. When you wire speakers in parallel, each speaker contributes to the overall impedence seen by the amp. So say you wire two 8 ohm speakers in parallel (ie both +s on the speakers connect to the same amp terminal and the two -s to the other terminal for that channel) - the amp will effectively see a 4 ohm load. Not all amps are stable at low impedences so you need to plan accordingly. Also, if the speakers are different sizes or models, they may have different sonic properties and efficiencies so they may not be equally loud. If you want to wire different type speakers, say to put a woofer in the door with a tweeter on the pillar, then you should wire the channel into a crossover device first which has a high pass and low pass filter to send only the high frequencies to the tweeter and the lows to the woofer. The advantage of using different amp channels is that usually includes fader/balance controls to allow you to adjust the sound stage.
