hey, i am a new driver im 16 and im wondering if my 98 s70 glt is turbo? and if it is how much PSI would it run stock

 

yes, it has a low pressure turbo running 5psi

 

Yes and 5-7 PSI and you can run 10-15 PSI max safely and effeciently.

 

would i need to run a open downpipe to hear any turbo spool

 

No. You can hear turbo spool with just a cone filter on the end of your MAF. Such as a IPD USA or EST intake system.

 

yes, your glt is turbo. it's really hard to hear the turbo spooling unless you unleash some back pressure in the exhaust system. i'm running high flow cat converter and high flow muffler and you can hear it really well in a parking garage. ecu upgrades also made the spool slightly more audible. if you're lookin for a bov sound, a cone filter would work fine. that's all i have done to my glt
