Default Need help with rear deck speakers for 99 S70

Hey gang. I just got a 99 S70 and the rear deck speakers are blown. At least one is but I would like to replace them both anyway. My experience with rear deck speakers is they take a beating in the sun so I would rather fix it once and be done with it.

My problem is I can't find out what size and/or type of speaker is back there.

I have the stock stereo with tape/cd and would like to keep it for now.

Can anyone direct me to a stock style replacement which will fit without too much problems and sound as good or better than what is in there now?????

Any and all information you have is appreciated.

I also wanted to tell you I have 8 speakers total if that matters.

I have front and rear door speakers and front dash and rear deck speakers.

I know the rear deck speakers are 8'' but not sure how deep they are. Ive seen aftermarket 8'' on ebay or amazon. Check out volvospeed.com , somebody always selling stuff there. Goodluck.

they are 8 inch,i changed mine,If you want to put 6 1/2 inch in there they will fit as well.
It doesn,t matter how deep they are the Magnet goes through the deck.

Default Thanks

What speaker did you use as a replacement? Are the 8" speakers in the deck just a subwoofer? I am assuming any 8 Ohm 8 " subwoofer should fit then, correct? Or are the deck speakers actually coaxials?

I know most car stereos are 4 Ohm and home speakers are 8 Ohm so I am going to look into getting a home subwoofer as a replacement.

What do you guys think?
