Unhappy Need help with VOLVO S70 2.5 tdi 1998

Hello everyone!

I'm new here with a unfortunate problem My Volvo S70 2.5tdi 1998 has a weird problem. I had a dying battery, so I bought a new one. Started beautifully Then I didn't use my car for a week or so and discovered that the new battery was also dead. Charged it and put it back in. Insert the key in to the ignition, turn it and nothing happens. Dash board isn't working. Engine wont turn. No cranking, nothing! But the weird thing is that the interior lights function, brake lights function, parking lights function and long range lights funcion!!! I am also able to open and close the car with the remote control.
I checked the fuses, all seem to be normal. Have been thinking it could be a corroded ground wire or the ignition is broken!! Anyone ever experienced anything similar?? What could it be and what should I do? Thank you in advance!!

No diesels in the US and this is a US website but your issue doesn't seen engine related
Wiggle your ignition key
You probably need a new ignition lock/cylinder

I've noticed that this is a US site. I'm in Finland myself. European sites are empty now, everyone sleeping here and I need to find a solution ASAP. Need to start my car! Thank you very much for the reply!!
