Default P1057?????

Hello,

Does anyone know what OBD II code P1057 means? I have tried searching this forum and others, including just googling it with no really good explanation. I get it on my 99 S70 N/A. This car has been giving me trouble with a low idle that sometimes cuts out. I tried going to the CanODBII website and it does not know this code for Volvo either.

Can someone please explain this "Volvo" code?

Thank you.

Default Anyone know what OBD code P1057 means?

I still can not locate the meaning for OBD code P1057. I keeping researching it but have not found anything. On other forums no one has answered similar requests from other users. I am hoping one of our Volvo mechanics could help with this. I have it as the only code that pulls up on my 99 S70 N/A 105K miles. Thank you for your help.

Apparently everyone is as stumped as you are...

Assume you've double ckd the code number? Have you tried clearing it and see if it comes back? That's always the first step.

I have cleared the code and it does come back - not right away though. It keeps coming back as P1057.

Tech - thanks for checking on this, I bet it will help numerous other Volvo owners out too.

I had that code on a cutomers car for awhile now. it sat for the last year and now he wants it back on the road. Battery is now dead but when I boost it the engine light comes on right away. I tried my scanner and could not get communication with the ECU. The car would start and run fine. So I am not sure if it is the same code or not. What I did was removed the ECU, cleaned contacts with contact cleaner and then put it back together. Started the car with a charged battery and the engine light is now off.
I suggest to try this to see it it gets rid of the code.
