RE: PO442 Code
First off, Nice fox body. Saw a 87 t-top with 200,000 miles on it this weekend. was extreamly clean and rare....
I filled up friday but had the car off. I drove all weekend and the light didn;t come on till this evening.
I am going to check the gas cap, undo the negitive side of the battery and see if that clears it up. If not I guess it's on to checking the hoses
I am trying to sell this car and it's becoming a pain. I sometimes thing my computer is messed up b/c my ABS light goes on and off all the time but I can assure you they work.
thanks for your help and suggestions!

Most of the time the battery will not clear the code.
You can check the hoses. Start upfront by the cooling fan. You will see an electronic Valve with 2 hoses going off of it. One goes to the intake and the other goes back to the Gas tank.
There is another Valve by the Fuel filter. The little hoses are known to dryrott and crack.
Thank you for the compliment. Mine needs a Paint Job REALLY REALLY Bad. Working on it really slowly but getting there with it.
Yes the 87 T-Top is Very Very Rare. I wish mine was clean!!! LOL

RE: PO442 Code
If your ABS light is going on and off and your ABS appears to work, you could have a problem with the ABS control module. My 1998 S70 ABS light was intermittent and the ABS seemed to work. I finally bought a rebuilt ABS Control Module and put it in the car. The light went away and the ABS works better. By this it seems more powerful when it is pulsating. I didn't know I had a problem as the old improperly functioning ABS control module still modulated, but what I now know was rather weak and slow. Just a thought.
