Can anyone tell me how much trouble it is to change the thermostat in a 98 s70 GLT?

Also where the Temperature sensor is located and where to find one? I am having trouble locating one except from the dealer....they want too much $$$

The sensor is located right next to the thermostat. Very easy to change out. The only place that you will be able to obtain the sensor and gaskets are your Volvo dealer. Good idea to replace BOTH items when one fails.

p.s. you might try NAPA for a sensor............they might have that part although I doubt it.

 

Finally did it last night, all was a breeze. Thanks for the tips. Found the temp sensor for $20 online as well. But to all that might need one, call and make sure it is in stock first.

 

WHAT! Where did you find the sensor for that price!

 

I got the thermostat for about $10.00 and the temp sender for about $28.00 at www.autohausaz.com about a year ago. Another good place is www.fcpgroton.com.

 

there are lots of stores where to find thermostat, depends only on how much you want to spend.. if your on a tight budget just look for a reliable source that won't charge with lots of $$$.

 

www.autohausaz.com is where my temp sensor came from as well for about the $25 price! Great service and fast too.
