Default replacing a used engine

working on a 2000 s70 i replace the engine with a used engine because the original one over head it and it when bad the car starts and idles fine but when you depress the gas pedal it will not ecelerate it just idles any ideas what cause it be

Hi and welcome to the forum. Is the throttle plat connected to it's linkage?

I think I can decipher that post well enough to respond with at least a couple of questions.

When you changed the engine to you use the old Electronic Throttle Module, the one from your old engine, or did you install an ETM that came with the replacement engine?

The ETM is "married" to the car via a software download and using an ETM that was not originally programmed to the car will not work properly.

Secondly, are you sure you plugged the pigtail from the ETM back into the appropriate connector? It has a tendency to hide behind the starter wires.

no i used the one that came with the engine and im think i plugged in the pigtail right

If you still have your original ETM install that one instead of the one that you got with your replacement engine. The original throttle module will already be programmed for your car.
