Default Rims for S70 (what sizes are useable??)

Hey, I'm new at this...need some help.
I want to install the largest rims I can, with low profile tires.

What is the largest tire and rim measurements that will still function properly??
Any input would be appreciated...especially from those who have done this before.

And...what does tire width affect in driving...is there a noticeable difference?? If someone could just explain how to pick sizes that would be great!

Thanks!!!

My 850 came with 17" wheels. They look biger than they are. My S70 looks like it will take 18" but I'm not sure.

I'm pretty sure you can go with 17" with no problems at all. Anything biger than that may require other modifications. My tire size is 17x215x45. They ride harder than 15" or 16" and they bend easy. My wheels are not 100% round anymore. Pot holes, road construction bumps, etc and bend the wheels.

Wow....how badly do they bend? Visibly? or would you have to inspect it closely to see...I don't want to waste a bunch of $$ on rims that will bend...

Thanks for the input

yea 17's max, id say. i had 19's on mine, 225/35z r19, very low pro. They looked mean but took a beating on potholes.

18 will fit just fine with the right tire. The may rub at full lock though.

Eh... I like how some bigger wheels look... but I prefer stock sizes, just for handling, ride, etc. I just got a set of OEM 16" wheels from a '98 T5... I'm going to put them on my '98 GLT I think they look nice. The stock 15s are going to get snow tires for the winter.

That's great thanks! Anyone else?? The car will be lowered 1.4 -1.7 in. Will I still be able to use 18's? That's what I would like...

Default Rims

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if a Rota P45R rim could fit on my Volvo S70 T5 even if it doesnt have the same bolt pattern?
