Default S70 Anti-Sway Bars

I read in S70 Drivers article/review series about some ANTI-SWAY bars from IPD. I spent some time researching those units on these forums and found positive feedback and am getting ready to pick some up. They seem quite expensive though, 400 dollars for the package. Is that about market price? I checked out BuySellTrade on the volvoforums and additionally the sweedspeed group to no avail.

Interestingly enough I found a company known as evolve has a bad history with sway bars and was curious if you had any information related to IPD's units malfunctioning.
( http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=89602 ) .

EuroSportTuning has a product for anti-sway as well, http://www.eurosporttuning.ca/Mercha...Code=VL-S70-su

I'm not sure if there is a difference or not. Looks like I missed out on this deal (100 dollar anti-sway http://www.swedespeed.com/news/publi...ticle_515.html from IPD), but does anyone know of any discounts or special offers to forum members, college students etc.? Figured i'd ask.

When installing IPD anti-sway bars is there some sort of recommended bushings or mounting hardware that is recommended? Ie something to help me get the most out of these units?

Thanks in advance for your help. These volvoforums have proved to be a great resource for information about my vehicle and I appreciate everyones efforts to make it as such. Happy Holidays!

1. IPD USA's sway bars have been known to be the best on the market for Volvo's. There should be no hesitation to purchase from them.

2. The link you provided for EST is to their strut brace. Which has nothing to do with the sway bars. A strut brace is used to strengthen the chasiss. It connects the two front strut towers together.

3. That strut brace for $100 is weak and crap. Do not purchase that one. It is a cheap economy strut brace. Purchase a EST strut brace or even an OMP if you can find one or even an OEM one from Volvo.

4. IPD provides bushings for their new IPD USA sway bar kits. They are included.

Did you look on volvospeed.com? I think I saw some IPD sway bars for sale there not too long ago. I agree with what S70driver said about the IPD being the ones to go with. I have them on my 95 T5R and it definitely made a difference.

Thanks for the clarification. Do you guys have any experience with endlinks? http://www.ipdusa.com/Volvo-SV70-199...8-373-691-689/

The review on IPD's anti-sway bar page suggest that they would be neccessary:

You guys haven't lead my astray so I figured I would put it up for discussion.

Thank you for the amazing amount of help.

I suggest replacing the stock endlinks with the IPD heavy duty links. They're priced about the same as stock OEM and are much better. I have the IPD sway bars on all three of my S70s and highly recommend them. I also recommend the OEM strut tower brace. I paid about $200 from Keystone Motors in PA. Ed Boyer is their parts manager. Great guy and good prices on Volvo OEM parts.

Endlinks are worth it.

Either get the IPD USA HD endlinks and or the QBM Extreme endlinks with boots.

Higher rate sway bars won't provide anti-squat/anti-dive, but they will provide flatter cornering, and they won't degrade ride as much as higher rate springs will. Overall, I like the ride/handling tradeoff better with my IPD sway bars installed. Heavy duty end links can't hurt, and aren't that expensive.
