I've got a '99 S70, non-turbo, with 130,000 miles. It's been a great car with few problems (with exception of a very annoying "chirp" in the dash when going over rough pavement or gravel driveways). Anyway...

The cruise control works, but it seems to have a very subtle mini-lurching when trying to hold the set speed. The speedometer doesn't really change, but you can feel it. This problem seems to come and go and is not continuous.

Any thoughts on what to check before I take it in for an experienced mechanic to check?

My Haynes book doesn't list any symptoms/diagnoses for the cruise control system.
