Default S70 oil pan question

Does any one know if the '98 oil pan is compatible with the '00 s70? Or is there a way to fix a small srape/crack on one? (wife hit a big rock......) it's a small leak but annoying and costly.. I was thinking JBWeld at first but I don't think that it would hold to the pan...

Any Ideas??

No the newer ones will not work. BUT the 94 850 through 98 oil pan should work.

Would it matter the engine? 2.3 vs 2.4 vs 2.5?

That should not matter. Even Turbo or non should not matter.

No, the 98 pan won't fit a 00 model, or vice versa, because of the oil filter housing and oil cooler. You can, however, use any 99 and newer pan, including 2.4, 2.3, and 2.5 engine pans, from 60 and 70 series cars. turbo, non- turbo, etc. don't matter

Oh, and make sure to replace the oil pan o- rings while it's off- these are prone to cracking. And use the "real" Volvo gasket sealer. It's expensive stuff- $30/ tube, but it's well worth it, as it's the only stuff that reliably works. Use a small trim roller to apply it.
