service light reminder?
I just ordered a Service Light Reminder Reset Tool for my 1998 Volvo S70 for about $53 (£28.04). The price is dependent on the exchange rate. If anyone is interested here is the tool info: 69007 - DRAPER EXPERT QUALITY SERVIC INDICATOR TOOL - VOLVO. I ordered the tool from Justoffbase Tools UK http://www.justoffbase.co.uk/s.nl/sc....A/id.15747/.f You will need to e-mail them prior to your order if you need shipping to the U.S. They (Tina) will provide you with instructions to e-mail them again once you place the order so that they may amend your order accordingly (charge you the correct shipping rate). They have two shipping choices:
- £9.00 (approx $17) no insurance or guarantee of delivery
- £24.89 (approx $47) by EXPD courier
I chose to be a risk taker and pay the cheaper shipping. I will post again once I receive the tool.

The DRAPER Service Light Reset Tool just arrived today. Perfect timing as I just changed the oil. I followed the instructions and 20 seconds later the light is now reset. The tool also is smaller than I thought it would be. It is about the size of a garage door opener. Now I can use the Service Light Reminder for its intended purpose, instead of cursing Volvo for this type of design when I do my own oil change.
i tried this on my 98 s70 t5 and no cherry. . .the light does not flash ,nor does it reset. does this not work on 98's? is it perhaps because i've recently reset my codes? Is there another way to do this on 98's? thanks in advance
If the service light coming on for about a minute every time you start the car bothers you that much, take the bulb out. That's what I did on my 97 when I had the instrument cluster out to repair the oddometer. Now it will never come on again.
I would not take the dash apart just to remove the bulb either. My light comes on in my 98 and I don't even notice it any more. If I had the dash apart for some other reason I would remove the bulb though like I did on the 97.
