STRANGE clutch problem
1998 T5M - I drove the car into the garage, replaced all brake discs and pads, left and right drive axels.
Bled the brakes in the correct order
Now, the car will not move;
1. engine running, clutch in, in gear, clutch out, no movement
2. engine off, put in gear, start car "in gear", no movement
3. engine running, clutch out, shifts through gears, no movement
Then I reverse bled the master cylinder. (feels firm)
Same as before
no sounds, no chatter, no squealing, no movement
Does anyone have an idea about where to start? Thanks in advance

I've had this problem 3 times with the external slave due to over-travel of the slave cylinder. It partially came out of the bore and stuck. The reason for the overtravel is bent fingers on the pressure plate. Unfortunately, a 98 T5M [edit: MAYBE] has an internal slave cylinder, so you're not going to be able to address that without a ton of work. If you can easily shift gears with the engine running, I fear this may be the issue. If it is, it seems to me that you should be seeing some brake fluid coming out of the transmission by this time.
Since you replaced the drive axles, you obviously have a reason to suspect that the left one popped out. I hope that's the problem, easy fix.
So in one scenario, power going into the transmission has stopped. In the other scenario, power is not coming out. You ought to be able to come to a diagnosis around this very easily, one way or the other.

With the car in gear, e brake off (no foot on the clutch pedal also) - can you push the car? Will it roll? If so i'd bet your right axle is not pushed in all the way. Some Aftermarket axles are not the best quality.
With engine running, and shifting through the gears - Try Ist - then immediately try reverse - does it grind? That means the transmission is spinning and the clutch is working - and probably leads back to an axle not installed all the way.

Came back to say that it looks like inside/outside slave cylinders was a mid year change on the T5M. I kinda had that nagging in the back of my head, so I looked at what they offer for it at IPD.
Hello again, you (both) were right. The left axle was not fully seated, once I took it out and gave a couple "love taps" it snapped in. I then went for the first drive in months and it felt great.
Thank you again for the insight.
