I would listen to the shop. If you have not changed it for 140K, changing it may cause problems. How does the fluid look when you pull out the dipstick?
Because mine was pretty black, I changed it at 120K for the first time. I did NOT flush it though. I just drained the old with the car jacked up in the front (wheels off the ground), refilled it, started it and ran through all the gears, drained it again, filled it again etc. etc. You only get about one third of the fluid out with each drain. I drained and refilled three times until my fluid looked almost like the new fluid I was putting in. Used about three gallons of fluid doing it this way.
You don't say what year your car is, and that will determine what fluid you should use. 98 and older use Dextron III. Not sure what the newer ones use. You can check with your dealer.
