Default transmission problem. PLEASE HELP???

I have a 1998 s70 t5 that iam having problems with. reverse gear gets stuck when i push the throttle, for example when i get in the car and press the gas to reverse the car takes off as if i were slamming on the gas, even when i have the brakes slammed. it feels as if the throttle cable gets stuck but the other gears work fine. need help asap. thanks

are you saying that the car takes off quickly, or that reverse engages really hard? Like, does the car move really fast after it slams into reverse, or does it just feel like a hard "hit" when you first put it in reverse?

well when i have to reverse from some where i put it on reverse, but theres no "hit", and i let it roll without pressing the gas, because as soon as i give it gas it will take off. i hope this is understandable.

Sounds like a PNP switch

Rock the shifter back and forth a few times and try it

May need to be replaced
