Default Trouble code PO 506

Code PO 506 returned after it was cleared. It read that the RPM was lower than expected. Could this be an early warning that something is going bad?

Have you had the ETM software upgrade done yet?

I received a letter from Volvo coincidentally. It seems there is a recall relating to that component that is causing that problem. It has to do with the ETM which they will replace at their cost under a warranty that is 10 years or 200K miles.

Thats what I meant by that. They do the software first and if that doesn't work they replace the ETM.
