Default Trouble Starting 1999 S70 After Getting Gas (posted 4-month ago)

Everytime I get gas in the car it won't start. After stepping the gas pedal to the floor and multiple tries I usually can get it started. It shakes and sputters a few minutes, but if I can get it into gear fast enough and start driving it runs perfectly fine. Drives great until it's time to get gas again. If anyone has had this problem or has any suggestions, please let me know, ASAP.

Angry Stall after Fill Up...Me Too!!!

I have 1994 850 Auto, Sed, Non Turbo, 150K and I have exact same problem. Been reading tons and sorry to say it looks like it could be caused by any one of several different reasons. I can't believe its the FP, the rest of the tank it runs perfect. Maybe the ignition switch, BUT, the rest of the tank runs perfect. Maybe it's the (insert rason here), but the rest of the tank etc, etc, etc. I'm doing a PVC job now and will check FP relay next. Sorry, no real help here, just to know you're not alone.

If you're having to give it throttle to fire, that sounds like one of the symptons of a bad fuel pressure regulator.

Thank you all for your input. I had the car checked by a local mechanic and the cam sensor was not working. They replaced it and it appears to have fixed the problem. However, the mechanic did say he couldn't figure why the cam sensor would affect the fuel issue. But in any case, it appears to be working.

That is odd. A failed cam sensor would have a symptom of no spark. But, so long as it goes now, we'll just chalk that up to the peculiarity of a Swedish made car. LOL
