Default Turbo a base s70 possible?

I just got a really good deal on a s70, cause I got it for $500. Now I'm wondering if I could turbo it out like a t5. I go to college for collision repair and I want to smoke some of these boys that have these Honda crx and civics thinking there hot lol what better way to get back at them with a Volvo that looks like a grandpa's car. If I can't turbo it, it's cool either way.

Easiest way would be to find a motor that was already Turbo and drop it in.

I just mention them two carsbcause that's what alot of ppl drives here. Yea I was gonna see if I can find a junkyard or someone selling a t5 turbo and accessories but before that I like to know if I could. Cause like I said I got the s70 for $500 and I don't want to have to purchase another car to switch it.

Earlier I was just looking around and saw a deal on a turbo from a 850 with intake included and said it would fit on a 98 s70?

I just go myself a s70 GLT (turbo) SE (special edition, its just an appearance package)

it has a low pressure turbo. T5 difference is high pressure turbo and the computer thats it. Find the high pressure turbo and the matching ECM plug and play.

The low pressure turbo gets up and goes still. I can't tell much difference between the t5 and the regular turbos, and I drive these kinda of cars every day (on test drives). However, the s60 T5R....holy #^%&^Q@ is at a wild car!!!!

So basically with my base s70 if I get turbo and ECM from Glt it will work? Anything other than that would take more modding?

just the computer and the turbo.

Keep in mind you may have to re-flash the computer to account for ever so slightly different pararmaters for the CI displacement difference. T5 has a 2.3l engine, Gtls is a 2.4l.

another thing I just realized. the engine with the low pressure turbo will have higher compression ratio than the t5, but I would not think it could be enough to damage things. If anything it will result in much more power than the t5.

hell today I was following my friend in his 2001 Saleen Mustang, and I was able to stay right on his bumper fooling around on the interstate. The regular GLS turbo will keep up with a 13 second 1/4 mile car.

This may be a stupid question but I wouldn't be here if I didnt lol but do you really need pc for turbo? Like is pc for throttle? Always thought you slap one on like a supercharger that is belt driven doesn't need computer.

woah hold your horses (sorry had to)

no with todays modern computer controlled engines its actually 4 parts instead of 3 now

air-fuel-spark-computer control

Just like back in the days of carburators. put a larger carb on, have to itehr change spark plug gap, or go to hotter plugs.

I started out on old iron 20s-60s stuff so when something with a carbuator comes in the shop im like WOPIE something I can adjust!!

I also got 2 certificates in engine high performance.
