Default What's up with volvo?

The only two dealerships in my county have recently closed their doors. The nearest dealer is now 30 miles away. I would be pissed if I had a new under warranty vehicle. Is this happening country wide or just in California?

duh, but if he lives in the middle of nowhere then volvo prolly would close its doors. But if he lives in say SF then that might be something to question.

I live in Ventura county. I am 50 miles north of LA. The Thousand Oaks dealership closed in April and the Ventura shop closed it's doors last Friday. Nearest dealerships are Calabasas 30 miles and Santa Barbara 50 miles. The newspaper quoted diminishing sales as the reason. I know the Ventura shop has been open for several decades now. Wonder if this is going on nationwide.

figured because of gas prices. I think they will only close ones that are not in major cities. But I dont think volvo is leaving north america anytime soon.

Recently read that they are looking to open a plant in the US as over 25% of their sales are in the states. Probably unprofitable dealerships or dealerships that did not want to do facility upgrades. I know Nissan is pulling dealerships from dealers who do not want to build new buildings.
