Default 01 S80 engine noise

I just had my 01 volvo got maintenance by a volvo dealer. But a high pitch noise comes out from the engine area when I just switch the key from 0 to 2. I did not hear this kind of noise before I sent my volvo to the dealer today.
When I returned to the dealer check
toout what is going on, the machinists said it is normal for 01 s80 and nothing wrong with it. I highly doubt it. Could some one give me some suggestion? Thanks a lot!!!

The noise is uploaded as attachment. please change the file name "noise.JPG" to "noise.WAV" before open it.

no luck downloading it. Does it come on, and run for about 2 seconds or so? Mine did that from new until it was wrecked at 96k miles.....

Still nothing.
Maybe it is the injectors making like a tapping noise? If so that is normal.

Thanks.

Before I did the 120,000 KM maintance today, it has no such noise. But after the maintance, the noise comes. The maintance included following items:

1 1275810 8 FILLTER INSERT
1 977751 7 GASKET
7 OIL CASTROL GTX
1 30630752 1 POLLEN FILTER.

Therefore, is it possible that dealer's job cause this problem?

I doubt it unless the oil level is low.

The attachment is recorded when the engine is NOT started, but is powered. (Switch the key from 0 to 2 directly.)

If the car is not running then what you might be hearing is the electronic throttle unit.(which is normal)

Thanks.

I don't know it is the electronic throttle noise, fuel pump noise or gas filter noise. Because when the engine is powered (not start), these parts are working.

The fuel pump only runs for a second or 2 then stops.
The ETM stays powered and will make like a humming noise.

Thanks, Tech.

The noise continues 10 seconds (NOT humming). Then the engine power is down automaticly.

Could you please tell your email, I can send you the noise file?

That is the electronic throttle body. Yes it is normal for that to make noise. Not sure why you never heard it before but they all do that.

The NEW NEW cars have a little bit of a different setup.

But it happens on the 99-I think it is 2003 on S70,V70,S60,S80's.

In I believe late 2003 for the 2004 model they changed the throttle body to a really small one.
