Just picked up this car today with 104,000 miles. A few miles after I drove it off the dealer's lot, the check engine light came on and the "Service Transmission Urgent" message appeared. Dealer said that he replaced the 3rd gear solenoid, and the transmission just needs time to "re-learn". Had to stop car several times and turn it off to get transmission to shift correctly.

He told me to bring it to AutoZone to clear the code, and it should correct itself over time.

I've read several threads indicating folks with this problem have had to replace transmissions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you need them to have a new transmission installed or have that one rebuilt. that transmission is done....they all seem to go at 100K.
