Default 2001 S80 T6 Occasionally dies while on the move

My S80 will occasionally die after letting off the accelerator and usually turning. I think it's the TCM, but the dealership will not change it without codes and it is not producing a TCM code. We have tried cleaning the throttle body, but it still does it. Sometimes it will all of a sudden be hard to turn as well. It's like the idle isn't high enough to support the power steering or something. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I would suspect bad throttle body.

Default Same part under forever warranty right?

I think there is a recall on that part right? Do they have to have codes to change it or can i demand it be changed, etc?

There has to be codes for them to change it.

OK the check engine light came on and I had the codes pulled. The codes are P1170 (engine shutoff solenoid) and P1180 (low fuel delivery). I changed the fuel filter and that may have helped the P1180, but I'm wondering if the P1170 may have something to do with it dying on occasion.

Now for my big fear! I was driving home tonight and twice on moderate/hard acceleration shifting from 1 to 2 caused a severe shutter in the steering wheel. Very harsh shutter. I recently put in a IPD lower and upper torque mounts and i'm wondering if the stronger holding may have put the smack down on the tranny. Any ideas/thoughts are appreciated.

The P1170 might lead to an O2 sensor problem.

Default Transmissions Issues

Is the harsh shuttering/shaking when shifting I explained a serious issue or is there something minor that could cause this? The fluid has recently been changed by the dealer and it currently is a slightly off red with some black specks in it. In addition, it has a pretty harsh acrid alcohol or some kind of off odor. I am trying to determine if the car is worth putting more money into or should I consider cutting my losses. Assuming it's an indication the tranny is going out what are my options/expenses i'm looking at?

Thanks,
