Hi tech, I found the relay online so I can order that now if anything... I still need a button for it though, any ideas on where i can find this one? If not, im sure we can improvise but i really wanted it to look stock..
Anyway, il keep on looking..
Unless something comes up, next weekend looks like the best time for me to come up to Orlando...

 

The dealer wants 44 dollars for the button but iv been putting out loads of requests on salvage yard websites hoping to get back something on this... Im not sure that they will bother with such a small part though but i figure its worth a shot.

Hi tech, I found the switch cover as a special order after emailing eeuroparts.com... They have it available for 22, roughly half the dealers price, thus allowing me to get the relay and switch from them. Do you know if the switch is already installed in the dash, just waiting for a switch cover? Or do I need some form of electronic switch also..

Hi again tech, using the catalog you sent me, he has the first part number in stock, 9192145 but neither of us after 10 minutes on the phone are sure it is the exact one that I need.. The catalog is not very clear on this and I dont really have a means of telling which of these buttons is the correct one for me.. Il call the dealer and see if they are of any help, but the odds are that they are going to ask me to come in seeing as they are quite hopeless via phone.

Ok, for the 3rd post in 10 minutes, I spoke to the dealer and apparently its the correct part... but get this, as its a special order part, eeuroparts orders it from the dealer up in CT, at a cost of 22 (including their markup) but volvo of tampa is selling the identical part for 44! Thats crazy! So il give Dean from euro a call in the morning and order that switch cover and the relay and seeing as I already have the fogs, my car is on its way!
They claim about 30 for the software upgrade on the car... let me just hope that the labour isnt too mean on it...
If possible, seeing as you know the volvo dealers up in orlando, if they have better rates we can have them do the software upgrade while they are cutting and coding the key and the remote...

Yes the blank cover should just pop off top receive the switch cover.

 

Well, I just finally got that button ordered and the relay, they say it should take a week or so to get the part from volvo and then to me.. so I dont know how this will effect the plans for saturday (ie. if we were going to do the work on the car)..
i figure i will just have to wait and see how long it takes and then decide from there.

 

It looks like I just have bad luck as of late, anything i try to do to save some money I end up finding a cheaper alternative after.

Looks my myswedishparts.com had the part for about 3 or 4 dollars cheaper and can get it to me much quicker... Once I save money on what the dealer is charging im glad.. .scary thing is these sites have it as special order items, which come from volvo dealers but they can manage to sell for less than half that of the dealer here in tampa. Anyway tech, that piece of the parts catalogue you gave me helped immensely..

Im starting to notice condensation in both of my lights.. obvously the cracked one would have in it but the other shouldnt... is it possible that when they hit one light, they may have slightly dislodged the bumper, leading to there being some kind of gap in the undamaged headlight? I tried using rain-x on it but it really didnt make a difference...
sometimes i noticed that just half the light actually fogs up but other times the entire thing... jsut a bit annoying and is nothing too serious really..

 

It might be that or something else is not sealed good.

 

Hi tech, i got the parts today from eeuroparts.. finally.. its the correct relay but im not so sure about the fogs.. From my understanding, it was the small button that would cover just the half of the switch dealing with the front fogs as i already have the button for the rear fog.. however, it is the wide button that will file the entire slot for both, is this how it is in a regular s80 t6, rather than 2 separate buttons?

 

By the way, forgot to mention, but they gave me the correct model number that we ordered, so its possible that I may have ordered the wrong part (just going on what advice volvo of tampa gave me and the diagram you gave me)

That looks like it.
It will replace the dummy plate on the left side bottom of the headlight switch.

 

Well thats what im wondering about, the button for the fogs is split half half with thr right have being for the rear fog lamp, and the left half being the dummy... but this is twice the width of each of those halves, so im guessing it will work as once i have the frong fog lamps on, the back will automatically be on also? Is this how it works in the s80 t6 when the fogs come stock?

I was actually expecting a half width button like the one i alreadu have to fill in the dummy plate...

 

There was 2 different setups.
One with the big buttons like the one they sent you and the Half and Half setup.
Can you snap a pic of your headlight switch and post it?

 

Ok tech, in the morn il post pics cause its raining out(lightning and so on)... and the same by you i think... il get that done and show you it, but mine is the half and half for sure... but i caught enough trouble to find this part, if i have to find the half small switch, itl be even more trouble! I can always sell this one on ebay if it isnt the right thing
