Default 2006 AWD Nivomats

I've noticed my driver side sits about 1 inch lower than the passenger side, the Nivomats shocks are likely starting to wear out. The replacement price per shock is $700CAD per side. I'm finding that there is no way to beat the system and buy aftermarket, and with used ones there is no guarantee that I won't be in the same boat again real soon. Is there any alternative in converting to conventional springs and shocks?
