Default 2006 S80 AWD Timing Belt

I have abt 57K miles and the car is 6 years old, is this a bit to soon to change the timing belt?

if it will give you peace of mind change it, my 2000 s80 has 159,000, at 114,000 i changed the timing belt, the serp belt and the timing belt tensioner, last weekend i changed all of the above again plus the water pump and serp tentioner and idler pully, now im done with it all and look forward to 200,000 +miles. good luck

depends on the condition of the belt, pop the top covers off and look at the belt, or take a picture of it and post it here.

more often than not it is the tensioner that fells rather than the belt. I usually run my timing belts to 80K-100k. However, I believe they recommend 60K. It really depends on whether the belt has been exposed to oil or extreme weathers and if the tensioner was set correctly not to cause too much or too little stress on the belt. I run mine so long because I change the tensioner, idler, belt, and water pump every time since I'm there. It is kind of a P.I.T.A. to change so I knock it all out at the same time for peace of mind and a little preventive maintenance. If you aren't doing it yourself then do what will make you feel comfortable doing, but it will cost you. If you haven't done a CVVT duel cam setup before then be really careful as you can bend valve really easy if you make a mistake. There are special tools to assist you.

its not that much of a PITA. I consider them same difficulty as doing a fame trap. If you can take it apart you can out it back together.
