2010 Volvo S80 3.2L fuel filter location
I have been finding conflicting information about fuel filter(s) for my 2010 Volvo S80 3.2L
Sometimes I see that there isn’t an external fuel filter, sometimes I see there is supposed to be. The conversations I have seen are either for other years or other engines, other models, etc.
So I’m wondering if I can get a definitive answer for a 2010 S80 3.2L straight 6 engine. It is pretty clear that I either have a clogged filter or a bad fuel pump. The pump is ridiculously expensive and a royal pain to replace so I am definitely wanting to try the filter first.
Any help here?

I believe that car came with either variant. It can either have an in-line filter or a filter sock on the fuel pump in the tank. Is your car a T6 or the 3.2? Pretty sure the T6 has an in-tank filter.
May be best to call a dealer with your VIN and ask for a fuel filter and maybe explain your situation and see what they say. Information is free.

I guess I don’t know what T6 means. As I stated, it is a 2010 S80 3.2L straight 6 engine. Since I don’t know what T6 means (if it is Turbo, then no, mine is not that) I don’t know how to answer that question.
Seems like I am going to have to go the dealer route. But I have read at least two other threads somewhere that said they asked the dealer, were sold a filter, only to ultimately find out there wasn’t one. But those cases were different years than mine so that information is inconclusive for my specific case.
I will try it nonetheless. Thanks much.
