So I was driving one day n my pump had died and it felt like I was driving a Miata with a manual steering rack expect much heavier I changed my pump which I bought from rock auto it was by Bosch n I also changed the reservoir I put fluid n turned on the car it still whining but I'm like okay maybe I need to bleed so I did it how it usually works on my other cars by cutting right n then left but still whining n then I was like maybe it needs to be broke in a couple day passed the steering feels good but still whining I took it to a foreign auto mechanic and he said it because it not a oem pump can someone please shine light on my problem this is my first Volvo so I'm not to familiar with them please and thank you

Check any flexi hoses for collapse or restrictions, the whining sound could be the pump is under excessive load due to this.
