ABS module and Battery problems?
I know I have an ongoing ABS module problem. Notwithstanding that, my wife got stuck inthe car today and on the dash it had low battery. She called AAA and they jumped her and it started. This is the second time in like a week. When the car was jumped and restarted, on the dash it had the ABS light on. Can an ABS problem be associated with a bad battery? Just coincidence? Thanks.
It's probably just a coincidence. S80s are terrible on batteries. They have 9 computers in them drawing power. Also the AC fan will come on by itself to dry the evaporator, draining more power. If I let my car sit for 2 weeks the battery will be dead. I make sure I start the car and let it run for 30 minutes at least every week or put a charger on the battery to bring it back up before I drive it. If the battery has been run down til it's dead several times the capacity will be reduced and eventually you'll need a new one. They're not cheap because you need the special Volvo battery with the vent on it since it's in the trunk and you can't have hydrogen gas venting in there.
I knew the battery was in the trunck didnt realize it had to be a Volvo battery, I droped the car off at a local repair shop. Hopefully it is still cheaper for him to ge tthe battery and replace then going to Volvo.
