he said the tech couldnt duplicate the problem, So Im not sure....It must be fine? because the pedal feels alot better...I think the hissing is still there, but only for a few seconds...

When i first brought my car in the service advisor, after hearing what i said about the brakes, said its probably a bad brake booster, so I was expecting that to be the problem, but the tech at volvo that looked at my car said it was fine...

do the brakes feel fine? The hissing sounds vacuum related. The diaphram inside the booster could be damaged slightly not giving you complete braking power. Try on an empty road (in closed track conditions of course) getting up to speed, say 35-40, and apply the brakes firmly. Not hard enough to kick in abs, but just firmly. See how it stops. If you are in question, ask them to check for vacuum leaks and make sure the correct pressure is being applied from the booster.

Well here's the thing,

When I hit the brake pedal it stops normally and smoothly. But when I park it and release the brake, I hear "hissssssssssssss", I tap the brake pedal A few times and it goes away. The tech at volvo checked it out, said there was no noise, sometimes it acts normal when i release it. The Fluid was above the min mark, but had room to top it off still(usually its full), They ended up bleeding the braking system and said thats what the problem was....

The brakes have 40% life on them, and they feel solid. I just hope I dont need a brake booster...

I tried it on my car and there is no noise of vacuum pressure relief or anything like that. The booster is seperate from the master cylinder so as far as bleeding it, it's not related. For peace of mind, you may want another volvo authorized location to take a look at it. It may be fine now, but if it is the booster then most likely the diaphram is going bad.

I had the same problem with my 2000 S80. You might also have a Service Engine light and a message of emission system service. Replaced the booster with one from a wrecking yard and it's fixed. https://volvoforums.com/forum/volvo-...e3/#post268089
