Cabin Air Filter

I am wanting to replace my cabin air filter and I know they come in 2 different sizes. 1" and 1.5"

On the ipdusa website it states either can be used on all 1999-2006 S80, but every other site I have been on states you need to measure your old element for proper fit.

Does anyone know for sure if either size will work? And is there an advantage of one size over the other?

Awesome, thanks for the link.

Although maybe I missed, but I did not see if there was an advantage of one over the other. Does the 1.5" actually work better, or am I just as well off using the 1" and saving the money?

i dont know, i got it by mistake, i think they call the 1.5 inch filter charcoal activated, and the 1" is just paper, if i was buying one i would get the cheapest possible one causwe you are never going to notice the difference...

but im sure there is a difference between those two, otherwise why would they make it ?

ok, I ordered the 1" and when I removed the old one it was a 1.5". I installed the new one that way I thought would match best. They both have a tab at the top which is flush on one side and goes up about 2" on the other side. When this tab goes from left to right, on the old filter the tab would be furthest from you on the new filter it is closest to you. This installed ok, but now I am noticing that when the system cycles to the filter, I loose air pressure and almost sounds as the air passage is blocked.

I have not gone in yet to see if flipping it around so that instead of caring that the tab goes from flush to about 2", to just flipping the filter around so the tab is just in the back, closest to the engine compartment, or if maybe there is actually something else obstructing the air flow.
