Cleaning My Mass Air Flow Sensors
I've been getting the "Service Engine Immediately" light for a couple of months now, and have been ignoring it because I just know the Volvo dealership is going to charge me a bundle for what I don't know. So after have read through several of these threads regarding bad /suspect Mass Air Flow Sensors, I have decided to try remedy the problem "on the cheap" by first attempting to use the CRC MAFS cleaner. But, alas, I am 'mechanically' challenged!!! Does anyone have the procedures for cleaning the mass air flow sensors, using this cleaner? Do I spray it on or do I pour it down the fuel pipe? If I spray it on, what should I remove to get to the MAFS?
The mass flow sensor is mounted in the Air Box. It is where the house attaches to the air box. Remove the hose then the sensor and spray the sensor off then let it dry and reinstall.
