Hi, I just bought this 99 S80 2.9l non turbo and I am getting this Warnningmessage "Bulb failer position bulb". I checked all the lights " observation from outside only" and I didn't see any bulb out.
But I noticed that both Courtesy lights under side view mirrorare not working, I was able to pull the bulbs out on both side and check them, they were good.
any way I even replaced them with new ones but they are still not working, I looked in the manual for any fuse related to it, I did't find any fuse related directely to side view lights.
My question are
IsCourtesy light under side view mirror for S80 99 suppose to work? and
If they are, what it could be the problem they are not working? and
Are they related to my warnning Message "bulb failer"? or not?

Not related to the bub failure message.

Do you have 2 tail light bulbs per side working in the rear?

I think on the 1999 the courtesy lights only work when you unlock the car with the remote.

 

Thanks for your help Tech, it was one of the back lights and I fixed it.

 

I too have the same car, the lights under the mirrors are called puddle lights.

They are activated by pressing the yellow utton on your remote they come on with your headlights and fog lights and they stay on for aprox 30 secs.

 

So wat is the job of those lights under the mirror?
