Default crappy AC and excessive coolant usage

My AC likes to keep me cool for about 5 mins. It will then gradually warm.. and not be so cold... what makes it go up and down like this? obviously my freon level should be ok if i can still get cold air, even if for a short period of time.

also i seem to have to refill my coolant farely often. at least once a month... more if im traveling. i have not been able to find any leaks or see traces of leaks... what could be the reason behind this?

Hi there..just want to tell you..we had the same problem during the first year of our s80..2003..2.9 non-turbo.Good thing it was under warranty..it took the dealer 4 days to find out what it was and finally they said it was some sensor and something to do with the vents..weren't opening properly.Hope that's all of your problem....Good luck !!!

The A/C compressor clutch might need to be reshimmed.

The heater core might be leaking causing the coolant missing.
