engine is running rough on model s30

My car feels like it wants to stall and it is much louder than normal. the check engine light is on. A friend of mine changed the spark plugs for me. He said that the 6th spark plug has oil around it. I don't understand what that means. He also said that I should buy a valve cover gasket kit. I was reading some remarks and they said that's not a good idea and some said that their is none on my model. Can someone please give me advice. It would be much appreciated.

Well your car doesn't exactly have a gasket. It's an anaerobic sealant that is applied between the head and the cam cover. A lot of times the pcv is plugged causing oil to come out of the oil filter cap

No the pcv system needs to be serviced. I recommend replacing all parts instead of cleanign them to ensure it is the cleanest possible.

What is the pcv system? Do you know how much it will cost? I'm sorry if I sound stupid but I really am trying to figure it out. Do you think it is a big job to do?
