ETM engine surge made on the local news
http://www.ktvu.com/video/11017785/index.html I saw this on last night local news.
Please reply to this thread if your Volvo had the software upgrade and still has suring problem.
Just like the guy on TV, I had my software upgraded in May 06, but still has problem every since; even after I cleaned the throttle body.

RE: ETM engine surge made on the local news
So, I brought it back in hoping thatthey can find the ETM at fault, but ended up with a mass airflow replacement costing $550. It drives fine now. But in my mind, it's a matter of sooner or later before the ETM goes out. I hope it actually fail before the extend warranty goes away so I can get a new one.
I emailed the news channel and got this respond today. I hope everyone who still has problem contact the lawyer so he can continue pressing Volvo for all of our sakes.
"Sorry it has taken me a little bit to get back to you.
The attorney who brought this suit wants anyone who has hadthe upgrade and is dissatisfied to contact him. His name is Jeffrey Fazio. You can email him at jeffrey@fazmiclaw.comThanks so much for watching."
