how many rear fog lights are there? the reason i ask is one day driving the t6 s80 noticed the right fog lamp out. i removed the housing and there seemed to be a spot for a bulb but it wasnt the same size as the left side, so to get a bulb in there i had to grind the hole bigger. so i thought problem fixed.. well.. just got a used audi s4 and noticed the right rear fog lamp was out.. pulled out the housing and the same thing.. a spot for the bulb but the bulb would not fit.. so im starting to think that maybe there was only a left fog lamp on the rear and not a right, and i just modified both of my cars so that there are fog lamps on both right and left rear???

 

Correct, only the left side has a fog light...
My assumption is that in countries that are Right Hand Drive , eg. UK, Caribbean, Japan, India etc the fog light may have been installed on the right side instead of the left (seeing as the cars drive on the opposite side of the road)..


Just a guess...

 

In the U.S. it is supposed to be illegal to have both rear foglights working. It is a common Mod that alot of people do to make both work.

Also alot of the major $$$ cars for some reason do come with both working.(Jag,Lexus,ETC)

 

yeah.. thats kinda what i started to assume.. well..lol.. ive got all rear fog lamps going on both my cars.. legal or not.. i doubt here in kentucky the fuzz will pick up on it and ticket me for it.. lol..
