Default Fuel injector replacement

So I am having issues with my 2008 s80 t6. I have replaced all the fuel injectors and I am not sure if they are not sitting in right or what. I was curious if because I replaced them all ( they are not all volvo parts) do I need to code them in with a diagnostic scan tool? The car will not stay running and it sounds very rough. Thank you!

curious why you decided to replace the fuel injectors. Its pretty rare for an injector to fail out right and they can be cleaned to restore performance. Did you check for intake air leaks and made sure they are seated fully?

Your first step would be to scan the car with an appropriate scanner to see if there are any codes. Those codes will give you clues as to what the problem might be. As another has said injectors rarely need to be replaced. At my shop over 40 years I probably have seen 10 electric injectors that were bad. (not including the mechanical CIS injectors, they would clog badly) And 7 of those were 30 years ago - they would leak into the electrical connection.

Injectors do not need to be "coded"

cylinder 3 and 5 was misfiring , I had a couple mechanics look at the car and they said they couldn't figure it out so I looked into reasons why.... and we ( my husband and I) actually found a leak in the air intake and fixed that . Still had the same message on the scanner also running lean and rich and going through gas like crazy. The car started giving me a message slow down or shift up on the dash and lost power and the car ran really rough. In the mean time I replaced the fuel pressure sensor and still not running right. I thought what is between the fuel pressure sensor and coil ( all coils and spark plugs are new too) and saw the fuel injectors so I figured out #5 wasn't working the pin wasn't moving pulled the fuel rail and there it was a couple o rings busted and missing lots of crusty debris as well. Found some re built fuel injectors for a 100 bucks with a 2 year warranty so I figured we replace them all. So now we just can get the rail to sit in right tried a couple times with lube, at one point the car sounded great when adjusting the bolts on the rail...almost like all 6 need to sit in perfectly to work. I appreciate any help or advice. My s80 t6 is a second car and I do not want to dump a ton of money into her and also like learning and doing the work ourselves. Thanks again!!

Couple things, when you replaced your fuel injectors, make sure you got the old orings out in case they didnt stay on the injectors. Also, you should really get your car scanned with VIDA, it will tell you A LOT more than a generic obd2 scanner. And finally, how is your car running lean and rich? Its really one or the other.

Hello! Earlier this week I had replaced all 8 of my fuel injectors because my car was misfiring (had a mechanic confirm that that was the issue) and now my car runs like ****. When I open the hood while the car is running I hear what sounds like air leaking. I replaced both pcv hoses while doing the injectors and I also noticed the intake manifold gaskets were in rough shape so I will be replacing them later this week. Does anyone know what could cause the rough running that’s related to this air leaking sound?

try spraying some carb cleaner around the injectors to see if possibly you have a misplaced injector seal.
