Gas gauge on '00 T6 never goes to full
First post here... Just got the car a month ago, and I have noticed a peculiar issue (not necessarily a problem). When I fill the tank completely, the gas gauge needle never indicates full. It sits about 3/4 of the way on the scale, and the digital readout indicates approximately 425 miles till empty tank. In reading the manual and on-line literature, the car should have a ~20 gal tank. I typically drive the car until the fuel warning light comes on (and the readout says ~30 miles till empty tank), and then I'll get gas. When I have "filled" the tank until the pump shuts off, the most that has been delivered to the car has been about 14.3 gal. I fill it about once per week with my commute. I am just curious as to what may be happening, whether a certain volume of the tank has been blocked, if the tank float might be out of whack, if the computer may be out of whack?
I haven't been brave enough to see if I can drive below the red-zone yet (shades of Kramer and the Saab dealer...)

Do you have any of the service history from prior to buying it?
Someone might have replaced the fuel pump or something like that and may have a wire in the way of the float.
The car has a saddle tank setup so it has 2 sending units that the computer reads both and comes up with a happy medium.

When I drive mine til the red light comes on it will take about 17.5 gallons and the computer will say about 525 miles to empty tank. Maybeyour tank vent is clogged? Some people have encountered problems with spiders building nests in the vent tubes, clogging them up. See: http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index...l=spiders+vent

I do have just about every receipt and service record for the card. It was serviced at the local Volvo dealer at regular intervals. I'll have a look through those and report back. I'll also check the vent tube per the other threads. Thanks.
