Default Halogen to HID conversion

I was considering upgrading the halogens to an aftermarket HID kit. Do they work with the existing reflectors, or should I try to find a pair of used headlight assemblies that are already xenon/projector units and swap out my present set? Thanks.
2008 S80 T6.

the HIDs require both a ballast and the bulb/lense set up. There are after market kits but do some research to make sure that you won't wind up with a perpetual bulb out warning light.

Thank you mt6127. I have been reading up on the various kits and I'm mainly concerned with whether the reflectors that are designed for halogen will work with the HID kits, or should I just try to find the proper headlight assemblies at a salvage yard that were designed for HID in the first place.

You may want to give a call to erie vo-vo (a large Volvo focused recycle yard) to see if they can talk to the process of swapping out the buckets and ballast components from a factory install into a car with halogens. Of course they'll sell you the used parts too...so that'll give you a price point for used vs a kit.
