ok I installed aftermarket hid kit from ddm tuning but i bought the 35w kit.now my headlights work fine no flickering or shutoff of any kind only problem is that I get the dipped beam warning light.So I bought a pair of hid decoders to eliminate the warning light but it didnt work light is still on.So I was wondering do I need to get the warning reset or drive a certan amount of miles for it to go off or should it go out right away..

If I remember right..when you purchase the HID kit..you can also purchase a resistor to add to the kit that will fool the headlight sensor. I've seen them advertised anyway.

The bulb out system looks at the current levels drawn by the bulbs, with a 35 watt HID in place of a 55 watt lamp there is less current flowing to the lamp system. Some systems instead look at current balance between the left side of the car and the right. Those will be OK as long as both bulbs are the same. I think Volvo uses both systems, but I do not know which models use which system.

 

I did the same thing and replaced the 35w HID with 55w HID system and no error message.
