How do you replace HID headlight bulbs in a 2004 S80, or is it a "let the dealer do it" job?

 

The bulb is almost a hundred bucks. You sure thats it?

 

The ballast's are known to go bad more than the bulbs are.

 

I second techs opinion.

 

The passenger side HID bulb replacement requires taking the housing around the computers out and the filler neck for the windshield fluid off. After you do this there are six torx screws on the forward part of the ballast that must be removed. You should now be able to pull the ballast off. The Hid buld is located behind the metal cover held by two thin metal clips. disconnect the clips and open the cover and pull the whole assembly out the buld can be twisted and disconnect from the assembly.
