Hi Few months ago i bought 2000 volvo S80 with the milage 86k.I drive this car upto 89k(i.e.3K)and i went to showroom for general servicing.After examining the car they said its need to replace the ignition colis and steering cups costed is near about $2500.I dont have much idea about volvo maintance.If any one knows please suggest me.

 

i dont know about the steering cups. tech will help you with that one. but ignition coils only need to be replaced if you have a misfire condition. i know with nissans if one coil goes bad then you change them all, because the other ones failure is immenent (*sp??) so id wait till they actually began to fail and you developed a misfire.

 

They may be talking about the strut mounts? Or maybe steering stops?

 

lol... i know.. i thought the same thing. hrm.. they arent trying to get you to change your headlamp fluid ... are they?

 

Thanks for your replay.Really i dont know.Showroom people saied to me steering cups and ignition coils need to be replaced(cost is $2500 including lobor).Anyway i will take complete problem description from them.I will let you know once i took from them.
