hey guys, I am new to the forum. I love my s80, but now it does not move... it revs, but does not lock up and the engine just spins. I am assuming this is the transmission and have heard that pretty much every single s80 transmission dies. so how do I fix it? is there a kit to fix it? what tools will i need to fix it? what transmissions will replace mine? I have a 2001 s80 turbo and I can swap transmissions/engines but have never rebuilt a transmission.
no need to answer my questions directly if you can just link me to the correct location for this type of information.

can I swap transmissions straight across with any of these options?

please send a bunch of links for me!

thanks so much!

Joe, it is very rare for a transmission to just fail without a warning. If it doesn't move in either direction you likely have a linkage problem somewhere.

Turn the key on (not started) and have someone shift the gears so you can look under the hood and make sure the PNP or cable to the transmission linkage is moving.

When these cars start to suffer transmission problems they usually pop a CEL and drop into "limp home mode".

sometimes it grabs a little bit, but once I step on the gas it slips. im thinking its the clutches or whatever is inside of them

does anybody know about transmission swaps on this forum? is there a different forum? someone point me the right direction. I am 90% sure I need a new transmission and am experienced at doing transmission swaps from same car to same car but have never grabbed a transmission out of a different car to use and need some pointers on this swap before I start

This company specializes in upgraded transmissions for your car.

No movement in any range.

Almost makes me want to buy an S80 just so I can buy one of their trannies. Almost.
