Itake cam TDC
I just bought a 2000 t6. I already replaced all the intake valves due to a tensioner failure.
The previous owner removed the intake cam gear both didn't make any marks. Can somebody tell me in which direction the lobe needs to point in reference to the tdc mark? I just needed for the intake cam. Thank you. |
First things first, just to be clear. It is not set at TDC, it is set just before it. If your crank marks line up then you are good, just understand that this is not TDC.
You need to set the cams on the rear first. When you look at the rear of the cam, the groove on it should be parallel to the seam of the head. The groove on the intake cam should be above its centerline and the groove on the exhaust cam should be below its centerline. Are you familiar with setting the VVT on the exhaust? |
